How We Get Paid

Transparent information about our commission structure and how we're compensated for our energy consultancy services.

Our Commission Structure

Brio Power Ltd is very simply compensated by all business energy suppliers on our panel for introducing our customers to their electricity and/or gas and related services.

Important: No Direct Charges to You

We receive the commission directly from the supplier. You as a customer will never be asked to pay us directly.

What Our Commission Covers

The commission we receive pays for our services, including:

  • Providing competitive rates and price comparisons
  • Switch management and processing
  • Sales support and customer service
  • Ongoing account management
  • Market monitoring and contract renewals

The commission earned by Brio Power Ltd offsets the cost of providing these services in line with delivering good customer outcomes and maintaining our market position to continue to provide customers with competitive offers for their business.

How Commission Works

By agreeing to use our service, you agree that Brio Power Ltd will receive a commission from suppliers for this service as set out below.

The commission is included in your tariffs for the cost of energy consumption in the form of a small increase (i.e., within the cost of the energy contract that you agree with the selected supplier).

Commission Details

  • Amount: Generally just a few percent of the total energy contract price
  • Rate: Usually below the unit rate of 1p per kWh
  • Variation: Can vary between contracts and suppliers
  • Basis: Based on estimated future usage

Example Commission Structure

Example: Electricity Contract

Supplier Base Price: 12p/kWh
Our Commission: +0.5p/kWh
Your Total Rate: 12.5p/kWh

You pay 12.5p/kWh directly to the supplier. The supplier pays us 0.5p/kWh commission.

Payment Terms

The terms of payment and the period for which the commission is actually paid differ for each supplier. Therefore, even these commissions may be subject to changes by the suppliers.

Some contractors installing new meters may choose to pay a fixed contract fee instead of a per-unit commission.

Transparency Commitment

We believe in complete transparency about how we're compensated. This commission structure allows us to provide our services at no direct cost to you while ensuring we can continue to deliver excellent service and competitive rates.
